Program Director
Entrepreneurship Funders Network (EFN) is an active network for action. EFN’s membership includes community, corporate, institutional, family, and other foundations. All members focus on entrepreneurship or consider entrepreneurial opportunity to be a key mechanism for achieving their missions. Funder members have diverse philanthropic approaches and collectively work at local, state, regional, and/or national levels in the United States.
EFN envisions vibrant communities fueled by equitable entrepreneurial ecosystems and innovative mindsets. EFN galvanizes philanthropic funders to support and catalyze change to improve conditions for entrepreneurs and inclusive entrepreneurship, foster innovative mindsets and skills development, and strengthen equitable entrepreneurial ecosystems.
Founded in 2016, EFN is a 501(c)(3) organization and fiscally sponsored project of Community Initiatives.
Position Summary
EFN’s Program Director is responsible for supporting the Executive Director in the strategic planning, development, implementation, evaluation of, and reporting on programs. They will ensure compliance with any relevant regulations and grant requirements, and support budget management and forecasting. The Program Director will facilitate discussions, attend meetings, and publicly represent and speak on behalf of EFN as needed and directed by the Executive Director. This role will partner with the Executive Director to contribute to the overall success of the network and its purpose.
Program Management
• Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of programs, ensuring alignment with EFN’s purpose and strategic goals.
• Oversee data collection, analysis, and reporting to track program impact and inform future program design.
• Develop and implement program budgets and track expenditures.
• Ensure programs comply with all contractual and reporting requirements.
• Manage consultant and volunteer support of programs as directed by the Executive Director.
Grant Management
• Assist in the development and writing of grant proposals.
• Manage grant compliance and reporting requirements.
• Monitor and evaluate grant performance.
Coordinated Funding and Collaborative Action
• Assist in identifying opportunities for coordinated funding and collaborative action with network members.
• Oversee the development, implementation, and evaluation of coordinated funding and collaborative action opportunities.
• Ensure any coordinated funding and collaborative action complies with all contractual and reporting requirements.
Strategic Planning
• Participate in the development of EFN’s annual and long-term strategic plans.
• Identify, research, and present the case for opportunities for program expansion and improvement.
• Stay informed about trends in the field and emerging promising practices.
• Ensure EFN programming supports the positioning of EFN as a thought leader in the field of entrepreneurship, entrepreneurship funding, and philanthropy.
Stakeholder Engagement
• Represent EFN at events and meetings.
• Development inspiring materials, presentations, website content, and other published communitcations that communicate EFN’s work.
• Build and maintain appropriate and positive relationships on behalf of EFN with key stakeholders.
• Support the development and maintenance of strong communications and network wellness, internal and external to EFN.
Other Operational Support
• Employ and model an equity lens in all EFN work.
• Demonstrate a strong sense of self-direction, with an ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines.
• Work closely and collaboratively with EFN’s Executive Director and other EFN stakeholders.
• Work independently, as an engaged member of a highly collaborative team.
• Travel as needed.
• Other duties as required.
Qualifications
• Demonstrated experience developing and delivering programs and presentations.
• Excellent written and oral communication skill sets.
• Stakeholder management and leadership expertise.
• Experience with organizational and operational practices, including budgeting and financial management.
• Interest in and experience with grantmaking welcomed.
• Interest and experience in the US entrepreneurship sector, with knowledge of the different ecosystem stakeholder groups.
Compensation, Benefits, and Other Considerations
• Must be willing and able to work remotely, with access to an appropriate workspace.
• Must be authorized to work in the United States.
• The employer of this position is Community Initiatives, the fiscal sponsor of EFN.
• This is a full-time, exempt position with a salary of $125,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
