Congratulations to Pitch Night Winners!

The 10th annual Pitch Night competition was held on November 15 at Hudson Library as Global Entrepreneurship Week was celebrated globally and locally.  Seven finalists pitched their business ideas virtually via five-minute videos.

The $5,000 first place prize was awarded to Charisma Curry, Founder of Parents in Motion (PIM), a safe and cost-effective youth and family transit company that connects families to heavily vetted drivers.

Curry commented, “I was honored to win first place.  I would also like to mention that these funds will help significantly with safety and compliance measures as we prepare to launch our mobile application into the New Year. Parents in Motion is excited to continue making an impact on a larger scale. It means a lot knowing that families can count on us and opportunities like these make that possible.”  Curry encourages readers to visit the Parents in Motion website to learn more and access special promotional pricing running through the remainder of the year.

Prizes of $2,500 were awarded to runners-up Isaiah Kaiser, CEO and Cofounder of Auxilium Health, Inc. and Aleksandra Brankov, Founder of Cafilia.  Auxilium Health, Inc. develops biotechnology for wound healing using innovative methods to deliver the first fully active wound care product. Cafilia is a two-sided platform connecting local independent coffee shops and coffee drinkers via a subscription model and pay-with-your-cup convenience.

Serving as judges were Reka Barabas, Chief Relationship Officer of Entrepreneurship Education Consortium; Rachel Bridenstine, Executive Director of the Western Reserve Community Fund & Development Fund of the Western Reserve; and, Selina Garcia, Program Manager at Bounce Innovation Hub.

Burton D. Morgan Foundation congratulates the competition winners and thanks Hudson Library & Historical Foundation and the judges for partnering with us to champion the entrepreneurial spirit!
