Just Released! Beyond Silicon Valley: How One Online Course Helped Support Global Entrepreneurs
Michael Goldberg, Assistant Professor of Design and Innovation at the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University, has written a book that launched in April.
Available for free download, Beyond Silicon Valley: How One Online Course Helped Support Global Entrepreneurs takes readers on a journey from Cleveland to transitioning economies in Europe, the Middle East, Asia, Africa and the Americas, telling stories of students who took his hugely popular massive open online course (MOOC), Beyond Silicon Valley. The students start businesses, mentor entrepreneurs, grow entrepreneurial advocacy organizations, and energize the startup ecosystems in their communities.
Goldberg credits regional leaders Ray Leach, Jackie Acho, Morris Wheeler, Mike Belsito, Laura Bennett, Charu Ramanathan, David Neundorfer, Brad Whitehead, Anthoney Hughes, Paul Cohn, and Dorothy Baunach for sharing their perspectives on Cleveland's efforts to support startups, which serves as the case study in the MOOC and the book.
Production of the book was supported by Burton D. Morgan Foundation, and President and CEO Deborah Hoover contributed the foreword.
