The Foundation's mission fosters free enterprise through grantmaking, ecosystem building, and knowledge sharing. These efforts are built around the three priority areas of Youth Entrepreneurship, Collegiate Entrepreneurship, and Adult Entrepreneurship.
K-12 ENTREPRENEURSHIP EDUCATION FUNDRAISER
Burton D. Morgan Foundation wants to see greater investment in youth entrepreneurship education and is seeking an experienced fundraiser to secure additional resources for our program providers. This position will develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive fundraising plan that includes foundation, corporation, and individual giving.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and actively participate in the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and management of corporate sponsorships. This includes completing research on businesses within assigned market, while developing profiles and strategic plans to secure involvement. Develop a 3-year plan for account development and corporate sponsorships that allows for maximum revenue based on market potential.
- Lead and actively participate in the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and management of foundation sponsorships. This includes completing research on foundations with aligned interests, while developing profiles and strategic plans to secure involvement. Develop a 3-year plan for foundation giving that allows for maximum revenue based on market potential.
- Lead and actively participate in the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and management of individual sponsorships. This includes developing and executing an annual campaign for individual donations.
- Promote the value of youth entrepreneurship education and a free market approach to philanthropy.
- Create and deliver presentations for funding.
- Develop grant proposals and respond to due diligence requests.
- Ensure fundraising targets are met or exceeded.
- Recognize and thank sponsors.
- Work with marketing position to ensure efforts are targeted toward sponsor desires.
- Maintain sponsor database.
- Steward existing sponsors (meetings, phone calls, and email updates).
- Manage grant timelines and reporting needs.
- Make recommended site enhancements to encourage sponsor giving.
- Determine strategies for growing product-specific sponsorships.
- Cultivate existing funders to a higher level of support (upgrade).
- Work with marketing to produce and distribute impact pieces.
- Consult on product lines to increase sponsor base.
- Coordinate sponsor focus groups and events.
- Improve sponsor messaging around the model.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrated track record in corporate, foundation, and individual fundraising.
- Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to build relationships with diverse populations.
- Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and public speaking.
- The ability to create and implement systems and processes.
- Strong team player.
COMPENSATION
This is an independent contractor position for $70,000-$80,000, depending on experience. Contractor can work how, when, and where he or she chooses, but is requested to participate in weekly, pre-scheduled team meetings via zoom.
